Dillons mega event 1/27

Dillons is running another mega event this week :) I spent 45 dollars and saved 47, and I am counting this towards my February grocery budget. My favorite things about this trip were the free kleenex and free dip :) I will also be going to leekers tomorrow since they are doing double coupons, I need to pick up some things for my superbowl party. Go Giants ;)

I also spotted an unadvertised deal on covergirl eyeshadows so I will be going back this week to pick those up as well :)

Grocery day!

I've been waiting forever to grocery shop because this week is double dollar week at Leeker's in Park City, so my fridge is pretty bare and I had to buy a lot! So much, that I had to take 2 separate photos.

I spent 114.34 and saved 76.86, and this will last us 2 weeks so I spent right around what I usually spend.

Highlights of my trip: 69 cent sausage rolls after coupons
89 cent garnier fructis shampoo after coupons
2.99 downy unstoppables after coupons, I was really pumped about this because these             are usually 7.00 a bottle!
1.00 Hershey chocolate chips after coupons, 4 bags for my holiday baking.

I would say pretty successful for a family of 4, no?

Halloween Clearance

I went Halloween clearance shopping yesterday at Wal mart and Dillons, but I didn't get a chance to take a picture because my camera died, and it's all put away now :( But I can still talk about it! Okay so usually the rule with Halloween clearance is the first 3 days everything is 50% off. After that it goes to 75%, and then eventually down to 90%. I didn't want to wait that long to shop though and end up missing out on some good deals, here are some of the things I bought.

Walmart
Skull pillow with a throw blanket, originally $10, marked down to 5. I bought it for E for Christmas.
2 Packages of Halloween Kleenex, 2 boxes in each pack. Originally 2.47, marked down to 1.47 each
1 20 pack of mini M&M cookies, originally $5, marked down to 2.47
2 pairs of children's pajamas, originally $6 each, marked down to $3 each
1 package of starbusts candy originally $2.50, marked down to .99
1 package of reeses originally $2.50, marked down to $1.47
2 packages of fun size snickers originally $2.50 each, marked down to $1.47

I also went snooping around the clothing aisle and got lucky I found some tank tops marked down to just a dollar each and they were all originally 3.88 each! I bought 3 of them.

Dillons
I didn't find much here, but I did get a 36 pack of fruit snacks marked down from $5.99 to $2.47

I'm going to use all the candy I bought for some of my Christmas Baking :)

I didn't have coupons for everything I needed, but I still think I did pretty good. I found a bunch of different coupons in the store on all of the new displays they set up, and my dillons also had some nerf flag football sets on clearance for only 3.99! I think I might go back and get one for Eli as a Christmas present.

10 Cent sale at Dollar General!

This week Dollar General is having a ten cent sale on all of their green tag summer items. I went yesterday to see what I could find..

I got lucky, they had two giant candles left that retail for 5 dollars each.
A striped bowl, retails for 3 dollars.
And reusable ice cubes, retail for a dollar.
Before discounts this all would have been around 14.00,
But I paid 40 CENTS!!
Heck. Yes.
The candles will make some great Christmas presents, and I can use the bowl as a gift basket.
Go check out your Dollar General!

Guess whose back..

OH HAIII! I'm back. Obviously I haven't posted in awhile, We just got the computer fixed. My last post is actually the day our computer broke haha. Soooo we moved to Newton about 2 months ago, which is 4 hours away from Overland Park. The only grocery stores we have here are Walmart and Dillons... Which sucks because catching a good deal is really hard. Dillons here doubles coupons up to a dollar but their prices are usually so high that it doesn't make a difference. For those of you that know me, this really sucks for me because I am coupon crazy. I've been driving to Hutch the past few weeks to shop at Aldi, since there isn't one here and that's like a 30 minute drive.. Which brings me to today's story! Park City is only about 15 minutes away and the grocery store there, it's called leekers is doubling coupons up to and including 1.00 this week! Unlike dillons which only does up to a 1.00 and doesn't go over. I was soooo pumped, not to mention they are having good sales there this week anyways, so I loaded up the mini me and out we went. Here's my shopping trip!

First Transaction: 2 Digiorno pizzas @ 6.49 each; used 1.00/2 coupon doubled to 2.00 and when you buy 2, you save 1.00 on your next order. Total : 11.98 saved 2.00

Second Transaction:
1 Gallon whole milk @ 2.99
3 green giant vegetables @1.00 apiece, used .60/3 coupon- doubled made them 1.80 for 3, or .60 cents a box.

4 campbells soups @ .69 cents apiece, used 40/4 coupon, doubled made them .49 cents apiece
2 sundrop sodas @ 1.59 used 1.00/2 doubled, .59 cents apiece
2 kraft ranch dressings @ 1.00 each
1 Act popcorn @ 1.00
2 Jif to go peanut butters @ 1.00 each, 55 cent coupon doubled, FREE!
1 Doritos cannister @ 1.00
Indian Corn Candy corn @1.69
Taco shells @ 1.00
Tyson grilled chicken strips @2.50, used 1.00 coupon doubled, made it 50 cents.
1 Purex laundry detergent @2.99
1 Lysol wipes @1.99, used 1.00 coupon, doubled, FREE!
2 lbs of bananas @18 cents a lb, 46 cents.
Celery @1.00
Lettuce@1.00 used 1.00 of free produce when you buy 2 kraft dressings = FREE!
5 lb bag of apples @ 2.99
5 lb bag of potatoes @ 1.59
Red onion @ .52 cents.

Total = 27.29  Amount saved= 32.99

Highlights of my trip : Milk was 2.99 a gallon! Milk at dillons or walmart is well over 4.00 a gallon. I didn't have coupons for everything I needed, but that's okay because they had some awesome sales too. I spotted a few more deals I can swing next time I come in, so you can bet I will be there again this week stocking up on things for the winter.
