Why am I so horrible at updating my blog?

Guess I've been in a funk for the past few weeks. Christmas shopping, trying to get ready for Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving came and went, It was a pretty good day even though I didn't get to spend it with Noelle :( It should be a good weekend though. My little sister is coming over tomorrow, I need to find something for the three of us to do. Now if you will excuse me, Noelle is about to spill juice all over my carpet.

DIY: Upcycled skull shaped crayons

So after seeing posts about this a billion times I finally decided to try these today. These came out awesome! I'm thinking Christmas presents for some family this year.

Things you will need : Old crayons, broken crayons, any kind of crayons.
Silicone tray or muffin tin. I used a skull shaped tray I bought from the dollar tree.
                                 Children to peel your crayons

Directions:  Start peeling the crayons.. if you have kids that have a hard time sitting still (like mine) you might want to do this ahead of time instead of letting them help. I made them put crayons and wrappers in two separate bowls.

After you peel the crayons try to break them into small pieces, as small as you can.
After all crayons are broken up, place them in the silicone tray. Try to match the colors as well as you can, otherwise they come out all brown and yucky looking. Make sure the tray is full, if it leaks over that's okay just make sure you put a baking sheet underneath it. If you don't fill them as full they will break when you remove them from the tray. Also, make sure you use a tray that you don't mind ruining with crayons. ;)

Bake crayons in the oven at 250 degrees until completely melted, once melted pull out then swirl with a knife.
Place in the freezer for 10 mins or so, until hard.
Remove from the tray.

TA DAH!!

Cool right?
The best part about this project?
It cost me absolutely nothing to make!
And even if you don't have a silicone tray or a muffin tin they are only a dollar at the dollar store.
So cheap project right here! And I love how they turned out.

Christmas Decor :)

We aren't "officially" supposed to be putting up the Christmas decorations until Friday... but I couldn't help but make one little thing. Well, a center piece. :) I bought a bunch of Christmas Decor from the thrift store and to make this I used gold painted pine cones, (only cost me 50 cents a bag), a vase.. which i already had, a little bunch of silver leaves, and then I just tied some red and green ribbon around the center. Tacky? Maybe. I don't care. I like it :)

Sorry for the horrible picture quality... A camera phone doesn't take the best pictures.

Tonight's Dinner

Crispy Cheddar Chicken.. I have it in the oven right now. Yum!

Ingredients: 4 large chicken breasts
2 sleeves ritz crackers ( I only used one and had some leftover)
                  1/4 tsp salt
                  1/8 tsp pepper
                  1/2 cup of milk
3 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
                  1 tsp dried parsley

Sauce:        14 oz can cream of chicken soup
                  2 T sour cream
                  2 T butter

Directions: Cut each chicken breast into 3 large chunks
Grind up ritz crackers, I put them in a plastic bag and crushed them
Pour milk, cheese, and cracker crumbs into 3 separate bowls
Add salt and pepper to the crushed up crackers
Dip each piece of chicken into the milk, then the cheese, then the cracker crumbs
Spray pan with cooking spray and lay chicken inside pan
                 Sprinkle parsley over chicken
Cover pan with foil and bake at 400 degrees for 35 minutes.
Remove tin foil and bake for an extra 10 mins, or until chicken is golden brown.
In a medium sauce pan whisk together soup, sour cream, and butter until it's nice and hot.
                 Serve over chicken and enjoy!

I love this song.

boogers.

I think I'm getting sick. Go away sick, I have too much going on this week. Tomorrow night is dinner at the school, Friday I'm supposed to be going grocery shopping in Park City. And Saturday I need to go to Hutch and go to Hobby Lobby... and I think Wes and Val are coming over. Yeah, not a good week for me to be out of commission.

I'll have what she's having.

Halloween Clearance

I went Halloween clearance shopping yesterday at Wal mart and Dillons, but I didn't get a chance to take a picture because my camera died, and it's all put away now :( But I can still talk about it! Okay so usually the rule with Halloween clearance is the first 3 days everything is 50% off. After that it goes to 75%, and then eventually down to 90%. I didn't want to wait that long to shop though and end up missing out on some good deals, here are some of the things I bought.

Walmart
Skull pillow with a throw blanket, originally $10, marked down to 5. I bought it for E for Christmas.
2 Packages of Halloween Kleenex, 2 boxes in each pack. Originally 2.47, marked down to 1.47 each
1 20 pack of mini M&M cookies, originally $5, marked down to 2.47
2 pairs of children's pajamas, originally $6 each, marked down to $3 each
1 package of starbusts candy originally $2.50, marked down to .99
1 package of reeses originally $2.50, marked down to $1.47
2 packages of fun size snickers originally $2.50 each, marked down to $1.47

I also went snooping around the clothing aisle and got lucky I found some tank tops marked down to just a dollar each and they were all originally 3.88 each! I bought 3 of them.

Dillons
I didn't find much here, but I did get a 36 pack of fruit snacks marked down from $5.99 to $2.47

I'm going to use all the candy I bought for some of my Christmas Baking :)

Dillons shopping trip 11/2

Wow.. Grocery shopping really does take twice as long when you bring your kids huh? I was in there for only an hour and I only needed to grab a few things. Anyways, here's my trip.

Breakdown:
3 Crest toothpastes 1.00 each, used two .50 cent coupons and one .75, all doubled to a dollar= free
4 Stovetop stuffings 1.00 each w/ mega savings event, used buy 3 get 1 free coupon
1 Idahoan scalloped potatoes 1.00, used free box of potatoes catalina
3 1/2 gallons milk @ 3 for 4.00
1 package of mushrooms @ 2.00
1 container cream cheese @ 1.69
1 package shake and bake @ 2.49
1 package of italian dressing @ .69
1 Booberry cereal, marked down to 1.25
1 ragu alfredo sauce 1.26 after mega savings event
2 cans of del monte corn, .49 cents after mega savings event
4 cans of cream of mushroom soup, .49 cents each after mega savings event used 1.00/4 coupon

Total before coupons and savings: $44.40
Total after coupons and savings: $19.75

I didn't have coupons for everything I needed, but I still think I did pretty good. I found a bunch of different coupons in the store on all of the new displays they set up, and my dillons also had some nerf flag football sets on clearance for only 3.99! I think I might go back and get one for Eli as a Christmas present.
